Some of the gum in your mouth is tough and fixed down to the bone. The rest is looser and moves when you speak or chew.
An implant wants the tough kind around it. Loose tissue moves against the implant, traps food more easily and is harder to clean, and that is how trouble starts.
A small piece of tissue is taken, usually from the roof of your mouth, and stitched into place around the implant. Once it has healed it behaves like the firm gum it came from.
It is a short procedure. The difference it makes is not short-term: it is about how the implant looks and holds up in ten years.
Gum work around implants covers several procedures. Which one you need depends on what is missing: width, thickness, or coverage where the gum has receded.
All of them are priced separately on our list, so you can see exactly what you are being quoted for.
Gum health decides how an implant looks and lasts. It rarely gets a mention until something goes wrong.
Honestly, the timeline varies: a new tooth can be ready within hours in the best case, or take the better part of a year in the most involved one. Step through the sequence.
We look at how much firm gum sits around the implant site, and whether there is enough to keep it healthy long term.
The standard route. A Camlog or Straumann implant, an abutment, and a zirconia crown from our own laboratory.
A two-piece ceramic implant with a zirconia crown, for patients who want no metal in the mouth at all. Very few clinics in Europe offer this.
Where bone quality is good and the tooth is coming out anyway, the implant can go in at the same visit with a temporary crown straight away.
Gum procedures are priced individually. These are the published figures.
Prices are indicative. The exact price of your treatment is worked out at your first consultation, once we have seen the X-rays. GBP figures are converted for guidance at about 427 HUF to the pound.
Send an X-ray, or three photos on your phone. A dentist will look at it and write back with a provisional plan and an indicative price — before you commit to anything, and before you book a flight.

It is the firm gum that is fixed down to the bone, as opposed to the looser tissue further away from the teeth. Implants do better with a band of the firm kind around them.
Loose tissue moves against the implant and traps food. Firm gum stays put and is easier to clean, which protects the implant over time.
Usually from the roof of your own mouth. It heals over within a few weeks.
The surgery is done under local anaesthetic. The donor site on the palate is usually the tender part afterwards, for a few days.
No. Many people have plenty of firm gum already. We check at your assessment.
Often yes, which saves a separate procedure and, for a travelling patient, a separate trip.
The implant may still be fine. But where firm gum is missing, cleaning is harder and problems around the implant are more likely over the years.
Upload a panoramic X-ray if you have one. If not, three clear phone photos are enough to start. A dentist reviews what you send and you receive a written provisional plan with an indicative price.
No obligation, no deposit, and no need to travel to find out whether an implant is even the right answer.
