Straumann implants

Straumann: the name your UK dentist knows

Straumann is Swiss, and it is one of the most widely used implant systems in the world. If you have researched implants in Britain, this is the name you will have met first.
Send an X-ray or three phone photos. A dentist looks at them and writes back with a provisional plan.

The three things worth knowing first

A Swiss system, used everywhere

Straumann is the other system we place here. It is Swiss-made and it is used in clinics across the world, including a great many in Britain.

That reach matters more than most people realise when you are treated abroad. A system this common is one your own dentist is likely to recognise and be able to work on.

Chosen for the case, not the badge

We recommend Straumann where the case calls for it: difficult bone, a demanding position at the front of the mouth, or a patient who wants the system their UK dentist already uses.

Straumann starts at 250,000 HUF against 200,000 for Camlog. Your surgeon will tell you which one they want to use and why.

  • Widely recognised by UK dentists
  • Used in demanding positions
  • Straumann from 250,000 HUF
  • Camlog from 200,000 HUF

What your own dentist gets

Being treated abroad only becomes a problem if nobody at home knows what was done. We send you away with the details of the exact implant placed, so your dentist has them.

It is worth asking your dentist before you travel whether they are comfortable maintaining the system we are proposing.

  • Full record of what was placed
  • System widely serviced in the UK
  • Ask your own dentist first

THE PROCEDURE

Procedure — interactive step-through

Honestly, the timeline varies: a new tooth can be ready within hours in the best case, or take the better part of a year in the most involved one. Step through the sequence.

YOUR OPTIONS

Not every gap needs the same solution

Titanium implant and crown

From £745

The standard route. A Camlog or Straumann implant, an abutment, and a zirconia crown from our own laboratory.

Ceramic, metal-free

From €1,700

A two-piece ceramic implant with a zirconia crown, for patients who want no metal in the mouth at all. Very few clinics in Europe offer this.

Immediate implant

From €1,000

Where bone quality is good and the tooth is coming out anyway, the implant can go in at the same visit with a temporary crown straight away.

Prices are indicative. The exact price of your treatment is worked out at your first consultation, once we have seen the X-rays. GBP figures are converted for guidance at about 427 HUF to the pound.

Not sure whether you need an implant at all?

Send an X-ray, or three photos on your phone. A dentist will look at it and write back with a provisional plan and an indicative price — before you commit to anything, and before you book a flight.

COMMON QUESTIONS

FAQs

Is Straumann worth the extra?

Sometimes. It depends on the case, not on the badge. Your surgeon should be able to give you a clinical reason for choosing it, and if they cannot, Camlog will serve you just as well.

Very likely. Straumann is one of the most widely used systems in Britain, which is part of why we offer it.

The implant itself. The abutment and crown are charged separately, which is why our list shows each part.

The standard range is. Whether we place their ceramic range here is

Yes. Tell us at consultation. If we think another system suits your case better, we will explain why rather than just agreeing.

The same as any implant: three to four months for the bone to grip it, longer if you needed a graft first.

Details of the exact implant placed, so your own dentist can maintain it.
