Several teeth missing? Fewer implants than teeth.
The three things worth knowing first
Bridges carried by implants
When several teeth in a row are missing, we usually place implants at each end of the gap and bridge between them. The bridge carries the teeth in the middle without needing a root under each one.
Where the gaps are scattered rather than in a row, separate implants often make more sense. Which way round depends on where your teeth actually are.
Somewhere between one gap and a full arch
This is the middle ground. You have lost more than one tooth but you still have plenty of your own, and you want to keep them.
- Two to six teeth missing, in a row or scattered
- A partial denture you have stopped wearing
- An old bridge that has failed
- Teeth that have drifted into a gap you left too long
What changes when it is fixed
A partial denture sits on the gum and clips onto your own teeth. It moves when you eat, and over time the clips wear on the teeth holding them.
Implants pass the chewing load into the bone instead. Nothing clips to your own teeth, and nothing comes out at night.
- Nothing rests on your remaining teeth
- Chewing load goes into the bone
- Fixed in place, day and night
Cleaned like your own teeth
From a partial denture to fixed teeth
The change people describe most often is not looks. It is being able to forget about it.
Procedure — interactive step-through
Honestly, the timeline varies: a new tooth can be ready within hours in the best case, or take the better part of a year in the most involved one. Step through the sequence.
Scans and a plan
A CBCT scan shows where the bone is and how much of it there is. We work out how few implants can carry the teeth you are missing.
Extractions or grafting
Failing teeth come out. Thin bone is built up first, then left six to nine months to heal.
Placing the implants
Usually two or more implants, positioned at the ends of each gap. Under local anaesthetic, or a general if you prefer. Stitches come out about a week later.
Healing
Bone grows onto each implant over three to four months, longer after a graft.
Fitting the bridge
The bridge is made in our laboratory, tried in, adjusted until the bite is even, then fixed onto the implants.
We publish our price list
Cost depends on how many implants you need and what sits on top. These are the published component prices your quote is built from.
ADDITIONAL WORK, ONLY WHERE THE MOUTH NEEDS IT +
Prices shown are indicative. Your final treatment plan and exact price are confirmed after your clinical examination and any necessary diagnostics at our Budapest clinic.

Multiple dental implants, answered
How many implants do I need?
You will usually need fewer implants than the number of teeth you are replacing. For example, two implants can often support a bridge replacing three or four teeth. The exact number depends on your clinical situation, bone conditions and the final treatment plan.
Can I replace teeth on both sides at once?
Often, yes. If your clinical situation allows, implants on both sides can be placed during the same surgical visit. This allows both sides to heal at the same time and can make the later prosthetic phase more straightforward and balanced.
Is it cheaper than one implant per tooth?
It can be more cost-effective than replacing every missing tooth with a separate implant, because fewer implants may be needed to support a bridge. In some cases, this can also be biologically preferable, as each implant needs sufficient surrounding bone and the final restoration may be easier to keep clean. The exact solution depends on your individual clinical situation.
What if my remaining teeth are weak?
We assess the condition and long-term prognosis of your remaining teeth before planning implants. If a tooth is unlikely to provide reliable long-term support, we will discuss this with you and take it into account when planning the most stable overall solution.
Will the bridge look obvious?
The aim is for the bridge to look natural and blend with your existing teeth. Tooth shape and shade are selected to suit your smile, and our on-site dental laboratory allows close coordination between the clinical and technical teams.
Find out where you stand
Upload a panoramic X-ray if you have one. If not, three clear phone photos are enough to start. A dentist reviews what you send and you receive a written provisional plan with an indicative price.
No obligation, no deposit, and no need to travel to find out whether an implant is even the right answer.
