Single tooth implant

One missing tooth. One implant.

A single implant replaces the root of one tooth and carries a crown that works like the tooth you lost — without cutting down the healthy teeth either side of the gap.

The three things worth knowing first

Three parts, fitted over a few months

An implant is a small screw-shaped root, usually titanium, placed into the jawbone where your own root used to be. Bone grows onto it and grips it, much as it would heal around a break. That grip is what makes an implant last.

Once it has healed, an abutment goes on top and a crown is made in our own laboratory. Three parts, one tooth.

A single implant is usually considered when

Whether an implant suits you depends on the bone and gum around the gap. We settle that once we have seen the scan, not before.

  • You have lost one tooth and want it replaced for good
  • A tooth is failing and due to come out
  • You would rather not have the healthy teeth either side cut down for a bridge
  • A denture or old bridge is no longer comfortable

Everything under one roof

Our clinic in Buda holds every piece of kit a case may need, from the first scan through to the laboratory that makes your crown.

For someone flying in, that matters more than it does for a local. Nothing goes out to a third party. The surgeon, the prosthodontist and the technician all work in the same building.

THE PROCEDURE

Procedure — interactive step-through

Honestly, the timeline varies: a new tooth can be ready within hours in the best case, or take the better part of a year in the most involved one. Step through the sequence.

Consultation and plan

X-rays and a CBCT scan, an impression or a digital scan, and a full look at your mouth. Only then is the plan drawn up. Where it helps, we plan the implant position in 3D first, using the Camlog system we run here.

YOUR OPTIONS

Three routes, three prices

Titanium implant and crown

From £745

The standard route. A Camlog or Straumann implant, an abutment, and a zirconia crown from our own laboratory.

Ceramic, metal-free

From €1,700

A two-piece ceramic implant with a zirconia crown, for patients who want no metal in the mouth at all.

Immediate implant

From €1,000

Where the bone is good and the tooth is coming out anyway, the implant can go in the same day with a temporary crown.

THE COST

We publish our price list

A single implant is not one price, it is a stack of parts. Clinics that quote one headline number are usually leaving something out of it.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Single implants, answered

How long does the whole thing take?

Anywhere from a few hours to about a year. It depends on your teeth and gums, whether you need a graft, whether a tooth has to come out first, which tooth it is, and the implant used. The bone healing alone takes three to four months.

The implant goes in under local anaesthetic, so you should not feel the surgery. If the thought worries you, we can treat you under sedation or a general instead.

Usually titanium, which bone grows onto directly. We place Camlog and Straumann. If you would rather have no metal, we also offer ceramic implants with zirconia crowns.

A bridge is carried by the teeth either side of the gap, which means cutting down two healthy teeth. An implant stands on its own. We will tell you honestly if a bridge suits you better.

Only if there is not enough bone to hold the implant. It is not routine. The scan shows this clearly, and if it is needed, expect six to nine months of healing first.
